Ground breaking ceremony for new chapel in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte

In Announcements on December 27, 2006 at 3:30 pm- Brother Anastacio Mundacruz of Domalandan, Lingayen, Pangasinan has moved on to the next life last September 14th. As an evangelist, he labored for many years in barangay Domalandan.
- Brother Leonardo Gallo went on to his reward in the Lord on November 21. After losing consciousness in the morning, he passed away in the afternoon at the Cajiles Clinic in Alicia, Isabela. He lived San Mariano, Isabela for many years and served the church over there.
- Brother David Lachica, Sr. of Jose Abad Santos, Davao del Sur left this world at early morning of December 16 and was buried December 28th. He was a strong influence in establishing several congregations in his hometown. Also he served several terms as municipal mayor.
- Brother Noberto“Toto” Onez, evangelist who was based in Kidapawan City, Cotabato, succumbed to cardiac arrest in the evening of December 16 and was laid to rest on the 24th. He graduated from Philippine Bible College in the early eighties, taught school in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte then moved back to Cotabato. He was serving as director of the Southern Mindanao Bible College at the time of his demise
Activities from Davao
In News on December 26, 2006 at 10:44 pmDAVAO CITY-“Love, Choosing a Mate, Courtship and Marriage” was the theme of the quarterly youth fellowship last Dec. 22-27 hosted by the Davao City congregation. Lecturers were brethren Josefino Costales, Ali Fortez, Wendel Avisado and Bob Buchanan.
Earlier Dencio Solis reports that on December 4-7, the PBC Extension Class conducted a seminar on “Biblical Leadership.” Teachers were Sammy Facun, Ali Fortez, Crispin Gregorio, Jr., Bob Buchanan and Josefino Costales.
Abra Lectureship
In News on December 24, 2006 at 10:35 pmA year-end fellowship-lectureship for churches of Christ in the provinces of Ilocos Sur and Abra was held on Dec. 21-22 in Naguilian, Sallapadan, Abra. Theme was “The Holy Spirit as the Bible Teaches.” Lectures were given at day time and gospel lessons were shared at night. Ninety one were in attendance; nine were taught the gospel and were baptized. Speakers were Oscar Locaberte, Rodrigo Arellano, Roger Nonog, Felipe Marania, Nicanor Graneta, Jovencio Gundayao and Emilio Panday. Evangelists who are serving in the Naguilian congregation that hosted the affair are Marcos Ortega and Crispin Gayyed.
Preacher training school looking for new students
In Announcements on December 20, 2006 at 3:07 pmPhilippine International Bible Institute (Angeles City) screen applications and make interviews in April and May for those who wish to enroll for the June semester. Fourteen full-time students are enrolled this second semester of the current school year, reports brother Higato Tulan, Sr., the administrator.
Leadership training held in Ilocos Sur
In News on December 12, 2006 at 3:06 pmSAN EMILIO, ILOCOS SUR - Church leaders of the three congregations in this town attended the Dec. 7-9 Church Leadership seminar conducted by brethren Dick Baguioen and Eusebio Tanicala. After the worship service on Dec.10 attended by the two above mentioned evangelists, four souls obeyed the gospel call and put on Christ in baptism in a nearby creek.

New congregation in Tarlac

In barangay Dapdap, Bamban, Tarlac, a resettlement community in this town, a new congregation has started in the later part of this year. Fieldworkers of the Philippine International Biblical Institute (Angeles City), led by brother Paterno Tulan, are serving in this outreach. A bamboo hut where the fieldworkers stay has been built on a lot purchased by Eusebio A. Tanicala. This house also serves as the meeting place of the church.
Ladies’ Fellowship
In News on December 2, 2006 at 10:45 pmLaureta Suyamin reports that a quarterly ladies fellowship for churches of Christ in Regions 11& 12 is regularly conducted. Last meeting held was on December 2nd in Katidtuan, Kabacan, Cotabato. This regularly held affair greatly bolsters the growth in the faith of women members.
Baguio-Benguet Ladies Fellowship
In News on December 1, 2006 at 10:32 pmLadies in the congregations of southern Benguet and Baguio City held their annual fellowship at the covered court of the Loakan Elementary School on December 1. The A-Hill Church of Christ played host to this affair. Ninty ladies were in attendance and sister Liza Tanicala gave the lesson for the day on the theme “Harnessing Women Power through Fasting and Prayer.”
